そもそも「タンナー」って何？
タンナーとは、革を鞣す（なめす）会社のこと。
元々の動物の”皮”はそのままでは鞄や財布にすることはできません。皮を薬品などを使って変質させ、”革”に変えます。
そういった「鞣し」という作業を行う事で、財布を作るための革や、車のカーシートを作るための革、靴を作るための革・・など、
用途に応じて強度や革質などが違う革を生み出しています。
国内だと栃木レザーや、姫路レザーなどが有名なタンナーとしてあげられますね。
フランス デュプイ社
フランスにあるデュプイ社は、フランスといえば！というぐらいすごーーく有名なタンナーです。
最高級カーフの専門店として1948年に設立され、フランス本国の一流バッグブランドを初め、各国の高給ブランドや有名皮革メーカーにカーフを供給している老舗タンナー。
独自のクロム鞣しと染色技術を用いて、美しい色合いや風合い、柔軟性に特徴がある革を作り続けています。
